The fly plaid is a formal accessory worn over the shoulder and held in place by your choice of badge, brooch or pin. The Scottish fly plaid is a piece of fabric, woven in the same tartan as the kilt, that is worn over the shoulder as part of a traditional kilt outfit. The proper way to wear a plaid is over the Left shoulder for Men and Right shoulder for Women. As this video demonstrates you take one corner, gather the Tartan and push a Broach through it. You then take a Safety Pin to attach it to your Kilt Jacket Jacket.
